Most programs are scheduled for the last Thursday of the month and are designed to deliver practical, immediately useful information in approximately one hour.

Shield intentionally develops part of the schedule closer to the program dates so Shield Thursday can address developing legal, operational, supervisory, correctional, investigative, and public-safety issues. The 2027 Agency Pass includes eligible programs announced for the second half of the year.

Selected Shield Thursday programs preview an upcoming multi-day Shield training program. When offered, a qualifying attendee or agency receives a $100 tuition credit toward the designated live program. Each credit applies only to the identified program, has its own expiration date, and cannot be accumulated or combined with other Shield Thursday credits.
2027 Agency Pass
Make Shield Thursday part of your agency's training calendar.
The 2027 Agency Pass is designed for agencies that want recurring access without purchasing each webinar separately. Register up to five personnel from the agency for each eligible Shield Thursday. The attendees can change from month to month, allowing agencies to send supervisors, investigators, command personnel, trainers, corrections personnel, legal advisors, or other personnel based on the topic.

December 2027
Public Safety Year in Review
There is no regular Shield Thursday in December. Instead, Shield will close the year with a free Public Safety Year in Review program examining significant legal, operational, liability, and public-safety developments from 2027—and issues agencies should be watching as they enter 2028.
